The following exercises follow an alternative approach which integrates content in a foreign language. In this case, students learn Math through English. The purpose of the first exercise is to assess student's prior knowledge
of geometrical figures and to activate students’ schemata. The purpose of the second exercise is to let the students make associations between
the geometrical figures and everyday real objects.
You can use this type of task with first and second graders to teach them geometrical figures in a second language or you can use these exercises with advance levels as pre-tasks or initial evaluations to introduce complex math-related contents.

One thing that seems confusing is the shift in the orientation of the blog. Whereas in previous entries you seem to be talking to students, here your recipient changes. This makes it a bit confusing as it lacks an overarching standpoint or purpose :( The activities are well-planned though.
ResponderEliminarI can not download the activity. Perhaps my computer failure . In my humble opinion , I thought that blogs should be directed to the same subject and I see that here have mixed themes. Can it be ? Otherwise , I think it 's fine but I also think the lyrics are too small for children. But it is only an opinion .
ResponderEliminarHi Deyanira,
ResponderEliminarThere is one thing that surprised me just when I saw your blog for the first time: you explain the activities and their objectives as if you were talking to adults and the blog in my opinion should be for pupils. Anyway, I think you did a great job creating a webquest for your blog, it takes long! In this activity pupils might have problems to get to dropbox if they do not have an account already. As for the rest of the activities, I find the topics you chose for your activities interesting and motivating for the children. Congratulations!
